Hurt in the House of God

Unfortunately, there is a possibility that someone is going to hurt you along the way. You thought their intentions were pure and directed by God. And then it happens, that awful feeling, when you realize you've been stabbed in the back. Your openness only has made things worse, and things you thought were safe are now used against you. And this happened in a place where you thought this kind of pain was impossible to happen; in a House of God!

It’s easy to get bitter at this point. Your mind is getting bombarded with thoughts like “This is not fair!” “How can God let this happen?” Please remember that a bitter mind is only going to hurt you. It has been said that bitterness is like drinking poison and then expecting the other person to die. This is where our faith is getting tested. Do we really trust God? If we do, isn't He just and fair? For sure He is. If we really believe this, then let’s leave the past alone and know that God Almighty doesn’t want to hurt you. He has the best in mind for you. 

The hardest thing in these situations is not to lose heart. After all, you are dealing with emotions and circumstances caused by someone else, consequences that cannot be controlled by you. What you can control is your attitude about the future.

God knows what happened. He will deal with those who might have had ulterior motives. I know it’s not easy, as I have been through similar situations. It takes time, prayer and a humble mind to leave it alone. Let God do it.
