About Jukka Palonen
Origins
I have been involved in music ministry since early in my life. I have worked in different churches in Finland, Sweden, and the United States. Musical Education I studied pop and jazz at a conservatory in Oulunkyla, Finland as well as the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Other education include private orchestration studies with Svante Widen in Stockholm, Sweden and conducting classes at UAB Music Department in Birmingham, AL. My performance and composing experience ranges from contemporary worship to gospel. Accomplishments I received a Dove Award for the best youth/childrens musical “An Island Christmas” in 2009. Since 1978, I have produced over 40 albums and played keyboards on many others. Life Passions I enjoy helping people grow musically and spiritually. My greatest delight is to watch musicians develop and to see the role of worship music fully realized in the church. As a result, I currently devote my time to both music production and music consulting services for churches that want to grow their music departments. In My Spare Time Besides music and church, I enjoy playing ice hockey, skiing, hiking and building things with my hands. I am married and have three children. |
