Throughout my years in music ministry I've recognized that we in the church music circles are not any different from those in the secular world. We want a better position and a spot in the limelight. However, if we look at the principals of Christ, is that a healthy mindset? We should support one another, respecting those who are both more and less gifted than we are. | It’s natural to want to be recognized and looked up to. However, when it comes to our place in the ministry, things should look different. |
It’s natural to want to be recognized and looked up to. It’s one of the things that makes us practice harder and develop the talent that God has provided us. However, when it comes to our place in the ministry, things should look different. If we truly believe in the Bible, God is ultimately in control of everything. We should trust Him to put the right personnel in place for the music ministry as well.
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves." | Not everyone is called to be a main worship leader or to be in charge. So if we believe that God is in control of everything, we should not have the urge to fight for a better position. He will put us in the place we belong. Sometimes God wants to see our heart first, placing us in a lesser spot than we are qualified to serve in. So what’s our place then? It’s whatever place we've been given and being faithful in that position! |
